Alexandra is a Nipissing First Nations woman (Ontario & Nunavut). She is the first Cameco Chair in Indigenous Health and Wellness at the University of Saskatchewan, and Co-Chair of International Group on Indigenous Health Measurement (IGIHM)’s working group on Indigenous wellness. She is a Principal Investigator on various CIHR research grants related to Indigenous people and HIV, HCV and co-infections. She works with Indigenous communities and relevant stakeholders to understand the health and wellness needs of First Nations and Métis peoples in Saskatchewan and the changes needed to improve Indigenous health outcomes.
